This works for me.
The other night I needed to feed the kids something and it is a long trip to the grocery store. So basically I scrouged around and found a carrot, some pasta, some leftover Kangaroo (a little gamey, but kind of tastes like flank steak) and garlic. I toasted the garlic in the olive oil and sauteed the carrot in it as well but then I thought the kids needed more protein. So right after the noodles cooked I added an egg to them. The noodles cooked the egg instantly, and the egg gave it an added protein boost without really altering the taste.
I learned this trick from my cousin Emily. She says you shouldn't eat just carbs at a meal. You should try to add some protein with it as well. Since this was for the kids I didn't take out the yoke, but that is a possibility as well.
